Getting Started

What is Shugs?

Shugs is a Type 1 Diabetes companion that connects to your Dexcom CGM, learns your glucose patterns, and sends you nudges — observations, not advice.

How do I connect my CGM?

Go to Settings → Dexcom Connection → Connect. You’ll be redirected to Dexcom to authorise access.

What CGMs are supported?

Currently Dexcom G6 and G7. More coming soon.

Is Shugs medical advice?

No. Shugs shares observations and patterns only. Always consult your healthcare team.

What data do you collect?

Glucose readings, HealthKit data (if you allow it), journal entries, and your email. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Is my data safe?

Yes. All data is encrypted, stored securely, and never sold to third parties.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. Email support@shugs.app and we’ll delete everything within 30 days.

How much does Shugs cost?

£9.99/month on the web, £12.99/month on iOS.

How do I cancel?

Web subscribers: Settings → Manage Subscription. iOS subscribers: Settings app → Apple ID → Subscriptions.

Can I use my web subscription on iOS?

Yes. Sign in with the same email and your subscription is recognised automatically.

How long before I get useful nudges?

Usually 5–7 days. The companion needs data to spot patterns.

Why did I get a nudge about something?

Tap the nudge to see which patterns were detected and the confidence level.

Can I turn off nudges?

Yes. Go to Settings → Notifications.
