How it works
From connected CGM to smarter nudges in four steps
Shugs learns your patterns so you don't have to watch your phone all day. Here's how it comes together.
1
Connect your CGM
Shugs connects to your Dexcom G6 or G7 in seconds. Your glucose readings flow in automatically — nothing to do after setup.
2
Your companion starts learning
Pattern detectors analyse your data around the clock. The more data Shugs sees, the sharper it gets. Give it about a week to start spotting trends.
3
Get nudges that matter
When your companion spots something — a recurring high after lunch, a pattern on certain days — it sends you a nudge. Just observations, never advice.
4
Journal what happens
After a spike or a low, tell Shugs what happened. Two taps. Over time, it connects your journal entries to your glucose patterns and the nudges get even better.
Why Shugs
What makes Shugs different
- Built by someone with T1D, not a corporate health company
- Observations only — never tells you what to do
- Works even if you never open the app (email-first nudges)
- Gets smarter over time — not a static dashboard
